July Sensory Bin

We loved our birdseed sensory bin from May so much that I did not make another one for June.  I was pondering ideas for a new tub and decided to go really girly and sparkly!  So here is our box for July, just a little bit early!

It's so sparkly!!  Three types of pony beads, large opaque, large translucent, and small opaque, plus craft jewels and scoops and a neat Japanese style spoon.  Obviously, this is not a box for smaller children who still put things in their mouth, and I only let E use it when I am watching.  She's pretty good about that kind of thing, but you never know . . .

May Sensory Bin

This month's sensory bin is for the birds!  I put in birdseed, a couple of metal scoops, a bowl, and bright colored feathers.  E discovered the feathers can stand up in the birdseed and make a little "feather forest!"

Our playdough this month is yellow and smells like lemons!  I put out a couple of flower cookie cutters for her to use as well.  No pictures of that, it's just playdough . . .

March Sensory Bin

It's funny how I am seeing this one everywhere!  I guess great minds think alike.  This month's sensory bin is green and yellow split peas.  I found some green and gold plastic coins to put in, as well as some plastic shamrocks.

February Sensory Bowl

I've decided to get on board with the playdough and sensory bowl of the month idea. It's not much work, and E will play with these things for HOURS!

For our sensory bowl this month, I used oatmeal. Then I added whole cinnamon sticks, some foam hearts, and pink and white sparkly pom poms.

E loves to take the pom poms and hearts out and put them in a small bowl. She also is really interesting in spooning things right now, so this morning I gave her a spoon and let her spoon the oatmeal into a smaller bowl and then dump it and do it again . . . and again . . . and again!

Tomorrow is my day of and I'm planning on making our playdough for the month. I'm thinking pink and glittery!
